The fall shallow crankbait bite has started and is going to keep getting better as the water cools down! This is a great way to get in on some fast action and big fish. Find some rocks or weeds (gets easier to troll after the weeds die off a little more) and run a shallow shad rap or husky jerk or similiar bait. The inside weededge can be a dynamite spot. My best trolling spots are usually between 3 and 8 feet deep.

Has anyone else been getting out and hitting these shallow fish yet?

Yes I have! Nice ones too! Biggest one this weekend was 27". Several nice pike and bass as well. Most caught on the inside weededge in 5-8 fow.

Do you have any particular lakes in mind. I was out on 'Tonka Saturday mainly throwing logs at Muskies and trolling for them and then switched to trolling cranks for walleye's. I was mainly using DT 16's and Shad Rap 9's and had my best luck trolling at 20' in 20-25 FOW at the edge of fairly steep breaks. Caught a couple of Pike, 3 LM Bass, and 3 walleye's. So how would I change my presentation for fall?
