10 hours until N. Dakota trip

I am counting down the minutes until I leave for Kensal tomorrow morning at 5:30 am. The truck is packed and has been repacked because I am really excited to get my dog back from the trainer and do some hunting this weekend. I dont know how I am going to handle the count down to pheasant opener.

I will be after sharptails Saturday morning with the new setter and new gun, so I hope everything goes well. I would love to hit the bird if the dog does point one. I am hunting alone Saturday and with the dogs handler on Sunday. Should be a great time.

I bought a setter from a friends dad that trains dogs in Kensal around last Christmas. We did some sharptail hunting there late last fall and they were everywhere. Good luck it should be a great time.

The hunt went great. My girlfriend and I had a fun weekend with lots of birds. Sharptail numbers are great and the dog had a lot of nice points. It missed the first few birds before getting my 3 on Saturday, but my girlfriend shot 3 for 3 on Saturday (The guys I know in North Dakota are never going to let me hear the end of that)

I have some nice pictures but I am having trouble getting them on the computer.

I also went went dove hunting twice and that is a great time. I had a hard time learning how to lead them because they fly so fast. After I got my first one it became a little easier, I had to lead them by 3 or 4 feet it seemed.

The fist one is me and the pup. And the second is my girlfriend with the dog, birds and what used to be my BPS but i think she wants it. So I get a new gun

2thepointsetters, sounds like you had a great time. I'll be making a trip to ND over MEA this year. Went out last year for a few days and this year we'll be out there for 5 days- pretty pumped!

Maybe you don't want to tell your buddies she went 3 for 3. Maybe you want to turn the story around, but just don't mention anthing when she is around

I wouldn't be complaining bout her liking to the BPS. I think you would be getting a better deal!
