VMS
After last weekends issues in the busch race, ya think somthing will happen this week? What about the Cup race? If I recall correctly, the last two years the cup race was more like the chipendale chipmunks... "After you."-"No, After you."-"I insist you go first". "Why thank you" There will be spins and bumps here and there, but I'm guessing Helton will give very strong warning in the drivers meeting, and everyone will race pretty clean.Steve
lawdog
My thought on Bristol is simply that the night race there is the single greatest sporting event I have ever had the extreme good fortune of attending. It is beyond compare and I just can't wait until they drop the green flag. ITS BRISTOL BABY!!!!!!!!
Sifty
I love the place there is nothing like going back to the old Sat. night racing. The banging and beating part of it is what really makes it special. I think there is no better place for a little love tap for somone who has done you wrong. Let the flag drop I'm ready!Sifty
harvey lee
I believe there is going to be a few crashes that will mix up the top ten for sure.Thats Bristol racing.I do love the race. The question might be,Who will wish that they would not have had to make this race??
OUTDOORNUT
It was a great Truck race last night!!! #4 for Martin!!! Do you think those boys are really looking forward to him running a full season in the trucks??
JohnMickish
I predict 17 cautions. This is the best race on the schedule, not because of the cautions but because of the close action. Of course it has been better in the past when the track had a wider grove. Didn't they say they where going to resurface the track after this weekend? harvey lee
Bristol is the opposite of a plate track. The plate tracks take out 6-10 at a time and bristol takes out 8-10,1 at a time.If I was a cup driver I would hate them both.
JohnMickish
I also predict that the 55 will not finish on the lead lap, or be competitive at all.

I'll get even crazy and predict the lights will be on for the race...
lawdog
I have another thought. Jr. had to use owner's points to qualify and starts 40th. Meaning he'll be a lap down early and often unless he gets extremely lucky. He'll also have a TERRIBLE pit stall. Not what you want when you are hanging onto the Chase by a shoe string! VMS
That is exactly what needs to happen!! :-) Kasey Kahne starts 31st (not too good either) and is just out of the points chase right now. He needs a good run, and honestly, Jr is the closest one right now to being out, but I could really care less who would drop out (would love to see shrub out) so long as Kasey gets in. We'll see...Steve
LMITOUT
40th to 3rd even with a terrible pit stall. Looks like the shoestring just got a bit shorter.
jbell1981
Whats with Gordon complaining about Riggs passing on the corner. This is Bristol, most of the passes are done in the corner.I was impressed with Jr. Gettting to the front and being able to stay there with a 40th start. I wasn't expecting that and I benched him in the fantasy racing to prove it.
lawdog
Good run for Jr. after the pit strategy saved his butt. Jeff wasn't complaining he was just saying that the guy was way faster but never got in position to pass. Everytime they showed Riggs he was just running the exact same line as the 24. The better drivers were pulling beside a guy on the straightaway and getting position going into the corner. That's the way Riggs should have done it. As Jeff said, he had a way faster car and if he would have just calmed down and drove smarter he would have passed him long before that. What kind of an (Contact Us Please) has his spotter go ask someone to just move over when you are racing them for position with 30 laps left at Bristol??? I think it will take a crash/engine failure to change the top 10 now, they are pretty well set I think.
LMITOUT
Quote: Good run for Jr. after the pit strategy saved his butt. Wrong. Jr made his way to 14th before they used the pit strategy to get to 1st. 40th-14th in 115 laps and pitting with the leaders everytime. Hardly any butt-saving there. More like butt-whooping. harvey lee
It does not matter how Jr got to the front. All that matters is that he finished high and recieved more points. I never saw any of the race.Who crashed who out? Also, how did the 55 finish on the lead lap?

I'd say I hit that one but he did finish higher than I tought he would. Thanks for the offer on the crow but I'll have to pass it back, thank you very much. Jr made his way to 14th before they used the pit strategy to get to 1st. Actually there was two cautions the first he was running just a couple seconds away from getting lapped and picked up like 12 spots in the pits and then was in 14th when he stayed out. He definitely did not pass 26 cars on the track to "race his way to 14th". Go to Yahoo and look at the race chart and you will see two clear jumps that were pit related. LMITOUT
Yes, he did pick up a ton of spots (to 14th) by his pit crew's speedy work. That's not pit strategy. Give credit where credit is due. He had a top-five car all night and his pit crew did the job. You missed the part (or chose to ignore) where I said "pitting with the leaders everytime" during that 115 lap stretch and still got into the top 20. I never said "race his way to 14th", which would imply that he picked off 26 spots on the track by himself.
