Dock Boy
I just got my hands on a big bag Alaskan Halibut. Does anyone have a good recipe for it. Thanks
1tofish
I prefer to keep it simple. This is some of the best fish on earth and it's a shame to use to much batter or sauces. My favorite is just pan fried with butter. Maybe a light dusting of seasoned flour. Use a cast iron skillet for best results.I'm very jealous and very hungry...enjoy! LABS4ME
easy... -lay tin foil over hot coals on the grill -brush both sides of the fillet with melted butter -sprinkle on garlic powder -sprinkle on Lawry's salt -sprinkle on a little crushed pepper -cover grill -cook till the fillet begins to crack -squeeze fresh lemon juice over all the fillets -flip fillets cook one - two more minutes and serve. Better yet... bring 'em over to my house! I'm out and I'll cook them up for you! Good Luck! Ken
Dock Boy
Thanks guys they both sound good. The gentleman who gave the fish to me said something about boiling in salt water do I need to do this and if so what does it do to the fish. Surface Tension
Boiled and then dipped into garlic butter is fantastic.A light batter like tempura then deep fried is also very good.

Tom Linderholm
I have Fish Envy! One of my favorite fish to prepare and eat. I have prepared it many ways but I always go back to grilled. You definately want to stay simple with this fish, one of the most delicate fish to work with on a grill but just packed full of flavor. One of my favorite accompmiants with Halibut is a simple Grilled Tomato Salsa made with Grilled Tomatoes, Grilled Onion, Lime Juice, Cilantro, Jalepeno, and a shot of Tequila. That and plain old mashed taters'.
