Upgrade to AutoPilot - MinnKota??

Just wondering if anyone's ever heard of upgrading a PowerDrive motor from MinnKota and putting AutoPilot on it??

On my new boat I just got, I didn't even think about AutoPilot on the trolling motor like on the old boat, so now I need to figure out whether or not I need to buy a whole new motor or not.

You sure you can add Auto Pilot on? Maybe you're talking about Co-Pilot.

No, I'm not talking about Co-Pilot. I just haven't had time to get to a store to see the difference between my PowerDrive and one with Auto-Pilot to know how they're built.

I was wondering if it's just a switch more or less that could be hard wired in? Or a new hood on the motor?? Or is it entirely in the wiring, at which point do I have to just get an entire new motor?

The modification would require a new compass control board, cover decal, spring/actuator (for the AP button), and coil cord.
