Water level in the Devils Lake pothole region?

Recommended Posts

Thinking about coming west this fall for some duck hunting and am wondering how low the potholes are? Here in Northern MN it is dry as a bone. Are the potholes all dried up, or are they still huntable. Thanks for the info!!

I was at devil lake last weekend, water levels were down along hwy 2. Some of the pot holes were dried up, They got some rain on sat and sun, but not enough. I didnt see much difference in the lake levels though. Locals say its time for the down word, since its been raising since 1995

.Hopefully send some ducks minnesota way.

I can't speak for Devils Lake, but I know in general, water levels across most of eastern ND are down... down here in southern ND a lot of the potholes that held a foot of water have dried up.

We have started to get a little more rain lately, .25 here or there, but unless monsoon season starts soon there will be a lot more pressure on the big water and possibly more roosts being busted.
