LMITOUT
Anyone have some suggestions on a good FFB League management site? We run custom scoring and other things so the free sites aren't really an option, not to mention we have our own Commissioner (me) and just play against each other and not against the rest of the country. CBS has one but it's a bit pricey. Anyone use Fanball before and how did you like it? We used another site for the past two years and it was OK but shakey at times. If you have a suggestion, please just mention the name and don't leave a HSOforum link. Thanks.
xedge2002
I am in two leagues that use fanball and have been on it for the past few years. It is a good HSOforum and gives you good nearly up to the minute reports on players who are hurt or anything like that during the season. It also features live scoring and you can set it up to however you want it to run - points, trade deadline, playoffs, lineup, etc. You can also do a live online draft where your guys only have to be on a computer at the same time and you can draft over the internet. The bad things about it is every year the live scoring locks up at least once and you can't get onto the site. The regular HSOforum will also lock up or be really slow at times if there is a lot of people trying to access it. It is also a little hard to navigate at times if you aren't used to it. If your guys in your league have time to play with it before the season a little bit I would definetly suggest it.Overall it is a good site to use. I would give it an B+, if it wouldn't lock up every year it would be an A. They always post an apology for the lock up and say they have upgraded the server to fix it for the future but every year I have used the site it locks up. I think it costs about $60 for a league with unlimited teams.
LMITOUT
Thanks for the detailed feedback. They claim that you do not have to pay until week #3, so I may sign up and see what it's like before the season begins.
Down to Earth
I'm in a 14 team dynasty league on CBS and it runs pretty nice. Only ends up being $10/team so that isn't too bad. I've been on Fanball as well the past couple years and pretty much have the same comments that were stated prior. The site and scoring will crash during the first couple weeks of the season and then that's about it. I have run a private auction league, which will be entering its 4th year on Yahoo. You can set it up for an offline draft, where you have your draft at your house, etc, then just enter the rosters into the league afterwards. You can customize the scoring pretty to meet your needs. The only downfall is you can't customize it into divisions or determine the tiebreakers, plus you have to pay for live scoring. Another option is FOXSPORTS. Last year was their initial year, and the were having a ton of problems during preseason and the first few weeks, but by the end of the year it was going pretty good. I've been on it a bit this year and so far no problems.
nofishfisherman
Yahoo has a decent fantasy site, there are 2 options the free version and the plus version. Both are run about the same but the plus version has more options with it.I am in a private league with people from FM as well as being the commisoner of my own private league with friends. You can set up the scoring in a multitude of ways, you can do a live or auto draft as well. I do the free version with friends and it is a good time. I would look into it. The plus version I think is fairly cheap as well.
Down to Earth
Actually Yahoo Plus runs $125/ league. For that price I'd say your better off at Fanball or CBS.
nofishfisherman
if you break that $125 up between 10-20 people it gets pretty cheap. All depends on how many people you have in the league. I like the free version it gives me everyhting I need in a leauge.
Farley
I've run a leauge on Fanball for 3 years now. Yes it crashes every year in the begining but I think they have new management now, I dont think Paul Charchian is the main guy anymore so maybee they will invest in some extra bandwidth this year BEFORE the season starts. But other than that it is the best FF site out there for the money. The Newsbreakers alone are worth the $60, not to mention all the options you get as far as rules, scoring, finances, whatever. If your 4th WR's shoelace was untied during practice, Fanball will have it in the Newsbreakers.
Down to Earth
Aren't Newsbreakers free to everyone? Unless they have special restricted access to some of them I've always had access to them as they show up on their front page.

Farley
Down To Earth- youre probably right, I dont go to the main Fanball page much, I have it bookmarked right to our leauge page. I know they do have a premium news\injury thing going on kind of like ESPN Insider, but I've never used it.
