I just installed my Fishhouse trailer lights.. Question..

Should I move them out further towards the edge of the house? Or are they fine where they are at? I could move them 3" closer towards the edge, without the current holes showing up (the cover would still cover them up).

After I installed them, I went looking at other fishhouses on the net, and all of them are near the edge.

Kylersk-

My opinion is I think they are fine. Just my opinion however.

You'll have to have reflectors or reflective material on your shack anyway so I would leave the lights where they are at and get some reflectors out on the edge of your shack. I would highly recommend reflective DOT tape like you find on semi-trailers. Its available at Northern in short pieces.

Lookin' good man!

Been busy Deep P, but I am here now.

I have been noted for long winded responses so bear with me Kylersk.

To answer your question, the placement is fine the way you are.

DOT says stop, turn, tail and marker lights are required on all trailers wider then the tow vehicle and you are definatly wider then the tow vehicle.

To be totally compliant you will need to install the following:

a red ID Light at the top center of the back wall, http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200313845_200313845

a red marker on the upper back corner of the side walls, http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_338816_338816

an amber marker on the upper front corner of the side walls. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_338764_338764

Technically you are to also mark the fenders too but that is difficult with the pivot arms, I just use DOT reflective tape to mark the fenders.

In the reality of things 95% of the houses out there are equiped like yours is now, and I have not heard of anyone being stopped for inadiquate lighting. I personnally only have stop tail and turns on mine and all is well.

I think if you are towing during the day light hours you would be fine but that is an opinion of mine.

If you are truely concerned go to an RV dealership and mimic the lights on a camper.

The house looks great, good job on the construction.

Good job on the house, looks nice.

Just get the reflective markers (self adhesive)Truck stops, NAPA, Northern, etc.

Stick them on good and use a bead of good RV clear exterior silicone around the mounting surface base.

Group three (reds) in the center top and one at each rear corner and side corner rear.

Do the same with amber in the front and front corner sides.

Get (7) of each and Your good to go or load up as much as you want.

Really helps see it on the lake as well smile.gif
