Jig Worm Question

Double

Recommended Posts

I'd like to try a jig worm this weekend. Any recommendations for jigs? Do I want the eye to come straight out of the top of the jig, or should it come out of the side at a 90 degree angle? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Regards,

Double

For true "Jig Worming" go with the 90deg eye. There are a ton of great jig heads available. Gander Guide Series makes a nice mushroom head, Gopher Tackle, Northland Lipstick Jig.....

All-Terrain, Outkast "Money Jig"....

Hiya Double -

Jig worms are a hoot... Might be my favrote way to bass fish actually. For jigs, I really like mushroom head jigs, either the Northland Lip Stick Jig Worm jig, or the Gopher Mushroom Head. Both have good hooks (the Northland jigs have a Mustad Ultra Point) and good plastic keepers. With superlines, a flick of the wrist is all it takes to set the hook. I use a range of sizes, but probably use the 3/32 oz most often...

Cheers,

Rob Kimm

I bought some of those Guide Series mushroom jig heads from Gander for jig worming. Good quality jigs, but man are they expensive. I think there were close to a buck each.

Just not used to paying that much for a jig.
