Bought an older boat and am re-doing it. Test-drove it and everything checked out. Removed sideboards for re-upholstery. Took off but didn't mess with the cables of the throttle control. Re-put together. The problem: Motor starts, shifts into gear (F & R) but when I put the RPMs to it, it doesn't push any more water.... speed is the same.... basically idle speed..... Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated....

Do you mean you put it in gear and throttle doesn't accelerate ?

Did you check if it's conected at motor ? Also did you bend any cables ?

I'm taking it you can throttle up and build RPMs but your not moving. Not sure about your controls but I don't think your getting into gear. There should be a pin, lever or button you have to engage to get out of the fast idle neutral and into gear.

It goes into gear, rpms go up, speed stays at idle speed....????

I would say a bad prop hub. The prop is probably slipping. Try a new prop if possible, or have yours checked out by a shop.
