Spinner - Isringhausen closing is like bringing your hitting coach in to pitch batting practice. He's allowed two walk off home runs in two weeks and has a league leading 9 blown saves for an established closer. I think it's time to give Sosa a shot cause Izzy is washed up. Wyat to beat the beat down on the Stros last night, there ship is sinking fast and we need a closer. I would like jockety to do something huge like bring Renteria back and sign Wickman. Edgar is having a good year since coming back to the National League and anyone is better than Isringhausen.

Lohse has been a find for you guys but you must remember he's pitching in the National League. smirk.gif

"Lohse has been a find for you guys but you must remember he's pitching in the National League."

Yes Tim, I believe we have all mentioned he is pitching in AAA (NL) now smile.gif Truth be told, I got no problem with our GM pickng up just about any discarded AL pitcher, as long as he exhibited he could pitch at some point. Don't worry, Reds pitching is still a mess, even with Lohse's sub 2.00 ERA. He can't pitch everyday, and the new will wear off him eventually. He's only had like four starts

Next time the Reds win and the Cards lose I'll start an NL Central race thread OK? Appears it might be entertaining as one of our teams backs on into the post season.

Well Tim, you know the most dangerous teams are those (Cubs) with nothing to lose anymore so I can't guarantee anything about the upcoming series. Just saw that the Astros got one back today so now if your 'birds can just exact a little revenge tonight?????? you won't have to worry so much about my lowly 5th place spoilers.

PS - do something to shutdown Beltran would you please? The hype on that guy is starting to get to me. Sheesh.

Well it wasn't Beltran last night it was Mulder... Geez do you think he got it straightened out rehabbing in the minors before they brought him up to the big dance? Not... The offense did a good job to chip back after being down 10-2 to make it 10-8 but a loss is loss. Spinners bull pen served it up so damage done in the standings. My attention has been drifting lately to the NFL. Being a die-hard card carrying member of the Browns Backers I am looking forward to the game against the Bills Saturday night and the home opener against the Saints. My son Dad and brother are going on that bus trip. Every year it's a fantastic trip for us.
