You are not gonna set any speed records for sure. At full speed, you might get 3-4 MPH out of it? I have an older Motor Guide, and I have used it a bunch on my 14 foot Alumacraft FD. This is an old boat , and it is pretty heavy.

On small lakes, it works great. Battery life was good too. With a battery in good condition, I could fish for several hours, as long as you are not going flat out all the time.

might I suggest a 4 horse outboard motor? Thats what I have on my 14' boat, and with carpeted floors, a lot of gear, and one adult, it will go about 15 mph. (not sure because I dont have gps, but it should be around 15.) All that for only a couple hundred more, or at around the same price if you buy it used. smile.gif
