Twins parting ways with WCCO?

I read somewhere last week that the Twins are going to be switching to KSTP next year. This will be the first time in the Twins history that they have not been broadcast by WCCO. I would have to hope that they would be able to retain the same announcers (Gordan, Carneil) that are the voice of Twins baseball. I hope that if this all goes through it works out better than the flop of an idea Pohland had with Victory Sports. By that I mean, I don't know if KSTP will have the coverage to rural Minnesota like WCCO has. Time will tell.

It's fine with me...as long as they keep Gladden and Gordo doing most of the play by play. I love listening to those guys when I'm on the road. From what I read today, it seems like they'll still be around.

I don't know about you-- but when I think Twins Baseball-- I think GORDO!!! I can't imagine a game called on radio without him. Living out of the TV market for most Twins games-- all I get is staticky CCO' or a weak signal from Yankton SD down here in IA. Either way-- I love hearing --- "Radke, KICKS or (ROCKS) AND FIRES"- "SWING AND MISS-- HE STRUCK HIM OUT." on pitches--- "HIGH" or "Hit' em" with that high pitched voice. But his call to fame is---- ---"swings and DEEP FLY BALL RIGHT FIELD,, WAY BACK, WAY BACK,,,, TOUCH EM' ALL Justin Morneau,, another Cambria homerun!!!!

Gordo is one of the best in the business.

I think the announcers are employees of the Twins; not the radio stations. They should stick around. Not too sure about Gordon, though...more than a couple of times I've heard his call go "swiiiiing and a miss, he struck him out lookin'..."

I find it comical when Gordon sends out a happy birthday between pitches. It always seems like the person is having their 90-something birthday and they have been a Twins fan for 45 years. smirk.gif

probably so-- but when Gordo screws up the name of the town -- case in point years ago PLY-mouth MN, and the name of the person to boot, (you know he butchered it) it's something to laugh at. Gordo is one for the ages. I hope he and the currrent crew stay together and on the air.
