Not sure if anybody noticed but the Catfish forum has passed the Crappies-Sunfish forum in number of posts.

Partly my fault as I spend most of my time in the Cat forum and use to spend alot of the in the panfish forum.I do need to go chase some pannies while the river is down.

When I need a good meal of fish,pannie lakes here I come.

We need to petition the DNR, although they'll never allow us to use bluegills. Not sure why, culling little panfish would help out many lakes.

As for panfish as a meal, they are at the top in my book too. Although I tend to only eat them from cold water, as in my experience they don't taste as good and get a bit mushy in the summer.

Catfishing does certainly seem to be gaining popularity and for good reason. I just hope people are as responsible as the ones who came before us. I have not met a cat guy yet who doesn't keep the shore and water clean. Most of us too practice at least selective harvest.

The cat forum used to have more traffic than any of the other species forums. So either catfishing is "in", or catmen just talk way too much.
