Is a fuse needed?

For my graph in the bow I plan on using a 7 amp gel cell for power, like what is used for a flasher in the winter. Do I need a fuse? I've never used one on any of my flashers.

Yup, should always use a fuse. Something on the order of 3 to 5 Amps is probably about right. The smallest you can use without it blowing will provide the most protection.

Yes, you should use a fuse. Consider the consequences of not installing a $2 fuse. Is it worth the loss of your boat?
