wx_nut
Today I was out on Lake Six near Frazee. Decided to take the boat out and pull the niece and nephew around on the intertube instead of fishing. A great time was had by all, I even was able to back my boat (2nd time backing up my boat!) up into the water on my first try. I was mighty proud of myself. However, when I got out of the water and went to get my trailer I had something attached to my windshield. It was a white envelope that someone had written on there about reading information about invasive species, (Milfoil *spit* , Mussels *spit* and waterfleas *spit* ) and a green card that said "Dear Boater:" and had more information. There were several identifcation cards in the envelope as well. Has anyone else gotten these? Was I visited by the local neighborhood CO? Did I do something wrong? I always check my trailer and boat carefully whenever I get out of the water and typically have it sit for at least 7 days between visits to water, along with a visit from my 1500 PSI pressure washer. Thanks, -wx_nut
prov1900
No, you did nothing wrong. Information only pamphlets left by the state, I assume. Was on Mille Lacs last Spring and was contacted in person Re the same thing you got on your windshield. Congrats on the backing up thing, that is a definate milestone in your (apparently) young boating career. I still remember my first successful attempt. Truly, quite a thrill. The invasive species thing is quite the deal. Down here in Nebraska, one of our local lakes in inundated by milfoil. So far, hasnt hurt the fishery, but all in time. I can see why they are lobbying for people to be mindful. Sounds like you are already ahead in the game by washing your trailer, etc.
PierBridge
It's the DNR usually younger interns or temps for the summer I've seen them at a few different boat Landings this year......
DEADhead
It's possible the creel clerk from the Fergus Office left those; otherwise it could have been the lake association handing out the fliers.
