old outboard gas tank

Question

Does anyone know a good place I can get rid of an old (1980's) outboard gas tank that is pretty far gone...the hose leaks gas and the paint is chipping off...I have no idea and just know I don't think throwing it in the trash is a good idea wink.gif

I would check around to your local marine shops and see if they will take it. If not you could call the recycling center in your area and I am willing to bet they would have a place for you to put it. The body shops in town have to have a way to get ride of their old tanks from crashed up cars...Maybe ask one of them?
