Navionics Gold or GPS Lake Maps Question

Anyone ever use a Navionics Hot Map on Lake Pokegama near Grand Rapids? The lake seemed to be way off. It was showing my position 1/3 mile away. GPS signal was showing about a 40 foot error. Is it possible the lake map is wrong?

if your GPS was showing a 40 eerror.. then it was a GPS problem..not the Nav Chip problem.

What GPS are you using. Somewhere here there was a procedure to re-set the H20's that took care of the deviation.

Your GPS may need recalibrating or tweaking but the pokeg map on the chip isn't very accurate to begin with, I think its based on the the old DNR contours. There is supposed to be new contours on the next updated chips from lakemaster sometime soon, prolly spring 2007. Right now you can buy a paper version of poke w/ the new 1' contours and GPS coordinates that shows so much new structure it'll make your head spin...so many places to fish and so little time!Good luck!
