Lowrance X-15mt Problem

When starting up the unit , it begins to startup (about 3 seconds), the screen lights up and then it dies. Restarting it does the same thing. When I turn on my Lowrance 3000 gps unit and then turn on the x15 , it turns them both off. I took the 100c from the bow and plugged it in and everything appears fine. I'm thinking some kind of short in the x15. Opinions please

Had a Bottom Line that used to do the same thing.

Sent it in, and they had to replace a circuit board, so yes, you'd be correct in saying its an internal short.

That's just a good guess though. Maybe the power cable is damaged?

Check for corroded or loose contacts on the power plug. What condition is your battery in?

Thanks for the ideas. I will check out the connections first. My batteries are ok. I guess after that, I will talk to the local dealer or call Lowrance.

If two different units are shutting off, you have a short going on. Probably a corroded connection as mentioned earlier.
