Finlander
Bought a used 1976 Lund and I want to paint it correctly. I bought Stripeeze, marine boat primer, and marine paint made for boats. Question is where is the best place to strip the paint so the wife doesn't get her shorts in a bunch if I make a mess? Do I need to place cardboad or some sort of cloth to catch the old paint and mess on the driveway if I use the driveway? Any other tips! Thanx!! 0 Steve Bakken
The stuff we use at the shop and, if I'm correct, most of the stuff is biodegradable. Water will neutralize it. Wet down the driveway before you start. When it's all scraped off, neutralize it with water and scoop it into a cardboard box and chuck it. Rinse the driveway off again with water and you should be done.
0 Corey Bechtold
Finlander, why do you need to strip off all the paint? Is it checking, delaminating or something else? It's not always necessary to remove all the old paint. If the paint is uniform it could just be lightly sanded, primed (primer/sealer) and painted. Let me know and I'll try to help you out.Good luck,Corey Bechtold
