Always nice when your rookie #5 starting pitcher can go out an toss a shut out! On a side note, it was nice to see Mauer nail everything Prior tossed at him! One line drive single, one line drive out to left on a line! and a deep deep fly to the warning track. I'm thinking we got the better draft pick, only time will tell.

My sisters volleyball team could beat the Cubbies. Word on the street is that Ozzie's sensitivity punishment (oops, I meant training) is going to be a one week stint as Cubs manager when Dusty gets the boot .That said, the Twins may have a difficult time but should be able to pull it off.

Pretty darn close on that shutout call. One run in the ninth (sympathy run). Did anybody see the ball go between Lee and the 2nd baseman which allowed speedy Redmond to score??? That's the most bush league play I have ever seen in the majors,,, I mean get after it. Someone take charge!!!

It's sad to see that they actually fill Wrigley with 38-39 thousand day after day, (most of them hammered not even knowing who they are playing with "let's just have fun attitude) ) and the "real" fans just waiting for next year. When you know a Cub fan from any other fan in the Majors,, you can tell them apart immed. Cub fans always make excuses, always think about next year, always whining -- do you want an OLD STYLE???,, your LOYAL to the CUBS right??? Other fans from other teams wouldn't put up with the BUSH from the Cubs franchise.

If wrig was only drawing 10-15 grand like KC , then they would get the hint. I know KC fans that would DIE to have a roster like the CUBS, yet they don't want all the BUSH.

A team with as much $$ intake, TV contracts, national following really SUCKS when you've sucked for that long. Trying to think of a team in another sport to compare the cubs too, is like trying to compare --- I can't do it. They are that bad and will be.

Yes-- the cubs, are downright bush-league.

Well, well, well....so I'm a Cub fan and some boisterous know-it-all baseball fans are extremely opinionated....at least I can change allegiance to improve myself IF I WAS BANDWAGON JUMPER!

PS Shutting them out ain't much to brag about - the Cubs are the most shutout team in baseball this yr, or is it in baseball?

Don't take it personally from me Geno, your a true fan and for that you are Ok in my book. What ahppened to the cubbies? Just two years ago they were looking great!

Buzz, it wasn't your post - at least you showed compassion for me/us LOL.

I gave a Cardinal fan a rough time after the first 2 Wsox poundings and he told me I have no room to be talking smack...kinda how I feel about certain fans talking smack about the Cubbies. If you aren't in 1st Pl, it's wait 'till next year for your team too.

Anyways, I do not even try to figure it out - on paper, the Cubbies didn't look too bad. What happened? At the plate they are horrendous. Lee goes down, Murton falls flat, Walker can't carry a team, pitching leaves ALOT to be desired, JJones can't run the bases, Ramirez hasn't found it yet or maybe never really had it, and Barrett takes to Boxing.....and then there's our fabulous 1-2 (our Punto draft choice and the $11Million arm) who stink it up almost every outing nowadays.

Now all I can say is the same I was saying for the last month, or was it 40 yrs? - wait 'till next year, and pass me another OldStyle quickly.

I'am a far cry from a know it all fan,,, but I know this much, the Cubs are a joke of a MLB team and I knew on National TV this SAT 7/1/06, that Ryan Dempster was not going to save the game agst the Sox--- EVEN WITH 2 OUT!!!! All I did was look at that litte Cubbie C and chuckle on their shirt when Gload's ball went "Croquet" like threw the legs of Dempster and laugh when Dye and Ski' came up to bat. When ski' swung the bat,,, you knew it was over. When Jacque Jones hit the go-head HR in the bottom of the 8th,,, it's like,,, these are the CUBS--- they always find a way to lose. Most of the game I was cheering for the Cubs so the Twins could maybe grab a game in the WC race, but in the late innings,,, I said, Cheer for the AL team,, much more superior anyway!!!!

For those of you who think I'am off base for disliking a team so much,,, what's the difference???? If you have a fav, (TWINS) you going to have a disfavorite (CUBS)

OH yeah-- thank the LORD the Twins took Joe M and not Mark P in 2001.

AS far as being a bandwagon jumper--- don't know where that comes from--- but I have been a twins fan since I was knee high to a grasshopper and nothing else.---
