Cable Replacement

Recommended Posts

I have an older (15 year old) Proline bow with cables that have the insulation cut with the cable showing. Is this something that is easy enough to replace that I can do it my self, or is it best to bring it in to a shop to have it replaced? Can I order just the cable or do I need to order the whole cam with the cable.

Thanks for the help, I need something to get by this year until I can buy a newer bow.

Your best bet is the pro-shop where they have a bow press. They will also give you a tune up as well. It should be free or pretty cheap as long as you buy their products. Good luck!

You really need a bowpress to do it properly. NOwadays they probably wouldn't even give you a steel cable. The string materials today are amazing. You can get a new cable for under $50 and installed. I don't know where Pengilly, MN is so I can't recommend an archery shop but if you look in the phone book or talk to another sporting goods store they should help you find one.
