water softeners and bait

bhs91

Question

This may be a dumb question, but I'll ask anyway...We are moving to a house that has a well with a water softener and I was wondering how this would affect bait. Right now we just have pure cold well water and it's great; will it still be fine??

Thanks,

BHS

The water softener will not affect the bait. The problem would be if it is city water and chlorine is added to the water. You can go to any place that sells aquariums and get a chlorine killer to add to the water. Fish hate chlorine and it will kill them faster then darn near anything else.

Also check to see if you have a drinking water faucet although I would not worry about the soft water. I use soft water for my aquarium and bait, in my aquarium I use something to get rid of the chlorine that you can pick up a pet store or walmart has it in the fish dept.
