Bat Boy Takedown

It was a hoot. They are not suppose to show extra stuff like that on the broadcast but Bert and Dick showed the replay of the tackle. They said the kid would be getting tips from the Boston and Twins players. Today he probably has a Scholarship offer from the U of M to play football. Heck maybe the Vikings will sign him. Sure wouldn't hurt.

Quote:

It was a great tackle. Word is Glen Mason was at the game and tried to sign the guy up to play LB for the Gophers

Then Iowa took him away and the gophers lost another recruiting battle. tongue.gif

Ha! Good for that bat boy. I guess I won't see it on ESPN since they don't want to encourage it...I was putting the boat on the trailer and Gladden and Morris were first chuckling and then took the reprimand approach, but it was funny anyway.

Batboy heralded: There isn't always a lot of accolades that come from being a batboy, but Nate Reese sure drew quite the amount of attention on Thursday.

It all came after Reese, a batboy for the visiting team at Twins games, made what many deemed a highlight tackle in Wednesday night's game when two fans ran onto the field and eluded security guards. One fan even managed to start running around the bases and slid into home. When the fan got to his feet after sliding, he was quickly pummeled to the ground by Reese, a move that earned him standing ovations from the crowd as well as cheers from both teams.

"As soon as the guy rounded third, there weren't any guards around, so I thought I'd hit him," said Reese, 25, who was a wrestler at Minnetonka High School and played rugby in college.

Twins hitting coach Joe Vavra even awarded Reese a fishing pole following the game for recording what he called a "great catch."

The Associated Press reported on Thursday that both fans could face jail time, a fine or both.
