yeah... I held the g-loomis rod that my buddy has and the rod felt big so that was why I didn't get it..

With all that being said. It really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Get the rod that feels good to you and fits your budget. I think you'll notice more difference in reels than in high end rods.

Ah...yeah..Setyr has been aroung for a while, they just haven't made bass rods that long.

As for Kistler using Rogue blanks pre-05', who told you that lie? The new post 05' blanks are actually a little better than the old blanks (having both I would know).

And no, they didn't move their plant over seas. Get your facts strait!!! They still operate out of the original plant in Magnolia, TX,. As for over seas, The Magnesium rods are manufactured in China using the same components and standards as the rods comming out of Texas. That is why they list so much cheaper.

And I agree, buy the rod you like, not one someone else likes. I already said that.

My arguement is that Kistler makes a better rod than Setyr, not that you like them better. And of course you think Setyr's are lighter, have you ever actually handled a Helium? Even compared to other rods at the show Setyr was not on the top of the list, The new Quantum PT Signature rods were uch nicer and about $25 less.

I'm not argueing that you should like Kistlers better, only that they are a better rod.

P.S I wont argue with the G. Loomis arguement. They are probably one of the top 3 rods in production.

After testing the 7' legend tournament MH moderate action spinning rod, I wasn't too happy with the performance because it felt more like my Premier rod so I brought it back and got the 6'8" MXF St. Croix Elite Spinning rod.. Will test this out and see how well that performs.

The Daiwa Certate 2000 spinning reel will go on the St.Croix Rod like usual

Setyr opened for business Jan '05. The original post was about the Helium 2, which goes for about $150 more than the Setyrs. That's a lot of cash. I may be mistaken about the Heliums being produced overseas, I just remembered that I heard that Kistlers were being made overseas, but it may be just their new line of Magnesium rods.

I'm not trying to knock Kistler rods, as I'm sure they are great rods. I just think you can get something very comparable, if not better, for less in the Setyr. My opinion only.
