I was reading in-fisherman and they stuffed a tube with styrofoam to make it float have any of yo u heard of using this tecnique because it sounds really effective. for summer

to be honest, I have tried it.. but not since I have started drop shotting.. I really feel you can put so much more action in the lure with the drop shot and you are pretty much doing the same thing. Suspending the bait off the bottom.

I have tried it. The one downfall is that the styrofoam seems to interfere with the tube collapsing and getting the hooked exposed quickly and easily when you set the hook.

I should note, that I have only done it Carolina rigging.

Doesnt do much good to add flotation if you are using a tube T rigged or with a weighted tube jig.

I've played with this. If your t-rigging the tube, try pegging the sinker about 3/4 inch up from the hook. This gives just a little room for the tube to stand up off the bottom. This could imitate a defensive postition for a crayfish or a bottom feeding baitfish.
