0 Granny
ST,Would a broken sheer pin still allow the motor to go forward? Thanks,Granny
0 Surface Tension
Yes, there could be just enough of a bur for the prop to lock onto. Anyway its a good place to start and easy to check. IP

0 Surface Tension
You better replace the motor, I think its shot! Now about your boat....
0 scalescratcher
I had the same problem on a Turbo series Minnkota. There were 2 relays, one for forward one for reverse. Every once in awhile it would not go in reverse. A couple of sharp raps on the top of the housing while engaged in reverse and it would kick on. It made the sharp raps easier if fishing was bad and I was cranky. Something to try if it's not the pin. New bow mounts are always in stock somewhere! 0 Granny
So I get home and start tearing into the motor, just to show the wife I tried . I pulled the top cover off and for some reason turned the handle to "reverse" and the dang thing started working again . Not sure what it was but it works fine now. Thanks for the help but now I will have to wait till next year for the new bow mount. Maybe you guys should have suggested dropping it on the floor! 0 scalescratcher
I always keep a cold refreshment handy and being clumsy always seem to spill the darn thing into the electrical area of the motor!
