NEED HONEST OPINION QUICK

I am looking at a 1997 Northwood 1467 Aluminum boat with a 15 horse Evinrude tiller, 3 pedestal seats, livewell, Northwood Roller Trailer. The boat is in really good condition. It has no accessories to go with it besides the cover.

What would be the most I would pay for something like this. The guy is asking 2500? Is this too much?

We also brought the boat to the lake and the motor runs great.

You are right, for some reson I had in mind 25hp, sorry.

Yes, a 15hp will be barely enough to move the whole rig loaded.

I had the same rig and got rid of the 15 horse for a 25 yamaha and what a world of difference. That 15 wont move that boat too well with any prop or wings. Maybe with 1 guy in it you will plane out ok but with 2 guys it will be a struggle and you will plow forever. I know Ive been there and wont go back. Great backtrolling boat/motor though.

Whenever possible I would recomend upgrading to a 25 or 30 horse. I spun a few hubs before I switched. (Too much weight/tork on that little motor)
