No lower unit can i still go out?

I just found out that i will not get my lower unit back until tuesday and i really want to go out on saturday. would i be asking for trouble if i wraped the bottom of the motor with a few garbage bags an a bunch of duct tape and went out on Harriet with the electric?

I just saw a guy doing that at Nokomis nothing rapped around the engine either.

I would think you would be OK just so you don't bang into the motor with anything.

You don't have to wrap it in plastic, nothing will happend to it even if you dip part of it in water. The center section of motor is just exhaust housing, driveshaft and shiftr shaft housing, and that's it. Look inside of it, if there's a copper or plastic tube, remove it, it's for water pump.
