Trying to catch bigger fish

Griggs

Recommended Posts

Hey Tom, I was wondering what your go to lure or tactic was in that area I saw you at last week. With a sweet set up (boat) like that, you must have a few things up your sleeve there. I personally throw a variety of T rigged plastics about 80% of the time I'm targeting bucket mouths. You and Griggs did much better than Brian and I that day. Like I said in one of my previous posts, we caught a lot of smaller fish. Are you into the JnP like Dietz? I have had a few fish on jigs but have noticed a tougher time in the weeds with the jig as oppossed to T riggs. Any suggestions are appreciated as I love to learn & I am far from a professional bass angler. Later and good luck...

I do throw JNP, and I always have one tied on, but 90% of my time on the water is spent fishing soft plastics of many varieties. I am a firm believer that it's not the piece of plastic, but the presentation that catches the fish. in a couple of words--very slow and with purpose. You are not fishing for active fish or reaction strikes, you are fishing for the big girls that are nose to the bottom, not interested in feeding, and giving them a presentation that they just can't pass up.

I sure wish I could have been out there this morning, man was it beautiful.
