Optimax oil

Fishinglund

Question

Hello all!

I have a 115 HP Optimax. I haven't had it too long, and I haven't had the opportunity to run a full tank of gas through it since I bought it. (most of the lakes I fish are small, "no wake" lakes) I am wondering if anybody has any idea how much oil these engines use when they are at full throttle? I just want to make sure I bring plenty of oil with me when I am on vacation.

Thanks,

Fishinglund

P.S. This engine is on a 2004 Lund 1775 Pro-V.

If you buy a gallon bottle, it will be plenty enough.

I am sure what you have in reservoir tank is enough too, but a spare bottle won't hurt....

I have had two Optimax's and dont go through much oil at all. In fact, with the 3 gallons that is in the resevoir, I dont think I go through that in a summer, let alone a vacation.

I had a '99 150hp Optimax on my previous boat, and if I were to only fish local lakes, the 3gal. oil tank would be MORE than enough for the season. On our week long vacation though, I'd probably burn a little better than 3gals., but there I'd be driving 50 miles in a day, or better.

My own suggestion, I'd fill up the oil tank and bring one extra gallon...just in case.
