Powerpro question

DTro

Question

Has anyone ever tried powerpro on a *gasp* spincast reel?

My wife doesn't fish very much, but when she does she prefers the spincast. I bought a quality one for her a few years ago. It actually works very nice.

I'm thinking PP would be a nice option, but will it work?

Yeah, I use it on all but 2 of my spinning reels, those two get Vanish transition. PP works great, I would use the 6/1 or 10/2 just because it is easier to handle on a spinning reel. It also lasts a long time I have yet to change it in three years and it is still strong as the day I put it on there.

it was talked about . ( back when!!) the one pt. that was brought up was; many spin cast reels have plastic ears/tabs that catch the line so you can reel it in. a braid may wear through these very fast.

I am well aware that it works very good on spinning and baitcasters as I use both with PP. My question was specifically for spincast reels. I have the same concerns with the plastic ears, but if it casts and retrieves comparably to mono, then I just might give it a try.

Thanks
