Trolling motor power cable extension

I need to extend the power cable on my trolling motor about 6 feet and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. It is a Minn Kota 40 lb Endura.

I have used 4 gauge wire and also old jumper cables. Just cut the clamps off.
