Toby
If you are gonna try downrigging than I would suggest useing big willliams spoons, otherwise big jigs are good.

Swamp Scooter
I have had success with a couple of things. Lee's 1 oz. jigs with the hair skirts and a stinger have worked very well. Fleet sells a package of cured minnows that are cheap and hold up very well(tip your stuff). Another thing is a longer solid metal herring type of jig with a treble on the end. You can bend it accordingly to float/wobble on the drift down from the jig. Sutton spoons work fantastic behind one of the dipsy divers. Depending on how deep you might get away with less than 1 ounce stuff for jigs but much over 70 feet and they do not stay in line very well. wyldewal
How big are the lakers where your going And what's there main forage? Match the bait fish as close as you can and remember big fish means big baits.
