Border question - Fireworks!

hovermn

Question

While at work last night, and through a long thought process of which the origin is unknown, I stumbled upon a question:

Can a MN resident use real fireworks (not the MN legal kind) while on border waters? Say an island or on a boat. Not that anyone in their right mind would light fireworks in said gas powered bomb...I mean boat, but this is a question of legality rather then common sense. Common sense. Wow, how so many have forgotten you. grin.gif

Maybe you'd have to be across the imaginary center line of the legal state? Maybe you'd have to have a legal state resident with you? Maybe Jessie would come over and shake your hand?! Well, that is, if you haven't blown it off yet!

Anyway, I don't plan on doing this, it just popped into my head some how and made me say, "hmmmm."

Weve done it before smile.gifbut we dont really care about fireworks as all our neighbors try to show us up so to the heck wiht the law and let em fly in the cities. As long as we were safe the fuzz never bothered us. Us kids though used to take pvc pipe and fling rockets down the street. we only took out one window i think ooo.gif anyways, weve done fireworks on the boder and have not run into a problem wiht it!!!

It's actually very simple, you need to follow the laws of the city/state you are in at the time. Here in WI we have fireworks stands that can sell to out of state folks and residents that have permits. It is not however legal to shoot them off in this state without a permit.
