Slyester. There is no best knot but my favorite is the Palomar knot. I mostly bass fish and seeing the bass in your avatar I think you might like that knot. After you tie it a couple times its really easy

The "Trilene Knot" of course.

Seriously though. I like to use a palomar whenever possible mono or braid.
