Havent heard much as of yet, but am sure they are fishing and catching a few fish!!! I will dig a little bit and get back to you on this... Also, I take it you are talking about Memorial Day and not Labor Day?

This is also what I've heard. I also know that the steelhead are very catchable in shallow this time of the year. I prefer 100-180 fow. Boards and any orage colored spoon will keep you busy most of the day.

Salmon are running a little deeper from what I've heard. 200-300fow. Probably smacking the assortment of spoons and flies. Everyday is different out there. However a green/glow hotspot flasher has been the real deal for me the last couple of years.

Good luck and maybe I'll be out in Kewaunee this weekend as well. I'll be on ch. 68. Just call for Hammer.

This is the weekly report from another HSOforum and a charter captain. Lee does a pretty nice job of reporting from week to week and hopefully this helps you out until I can get out there on a weekly basis.

Good luck this weekend.

Reports are pouring in about the Kings in Algoma! There're here! Talked to a couple anglers today and yesterday the found great success on some really nice sized Kings. Most running 5 to 10 lbs., with some running up into the upper teens.

Early mornings have been very good the past couple of days with several anglers coming in with limits or near limit catches. 80' to 150' have been good depths and fish have been coming from the surface down to near bottom.

Flashers and flys have been the best bet for the kings, with some also coming on spoons off dipsy's and high "birds". White flashers and aqua or mistake flies have been the hottest combinations, especially on the deeper rigs.

Be sure to check out the new 10" Assassin flashers from R & R Tackle. I ended up the season last October with those being my absolute hottest flashers I ran! The All white "casper" (with silver scalelite tape stripe on back) and the "florescent green/silver scalelite" were flat out killers on the kings in late October. A few new color variations have been developed over the winter. Look for these to be available at the "Bait Box" in Algoma and Port Washington this spring.

Time to check your safety equipment on your boat. Be sure to check the expiration dates on your flares. It's also a good time to get your fire extinguisher checked also. From Capt. Lee and the crew aboard the Grand Illusion, Good Luck and Good Fishing!
