i believe it takes an allen wrench to adjust the pull weight and trigger travel. the lgithest it should go though is 2 pounds which is probably lighter than you would ever need on a hunting rifle, unless its a varminter which your only shooting from a rest. they are alot of the reason that savage got the name they did because a good trigger can useually help out the group by a half inch or so. i have had trigger work on all of my rifles and pistols for that reason. it takes the guessing out of when the hammer will relase so you are less likely to flinch. not that any of us ever do that anyway though.

thanks harvey. The accutrigger is the most advanced standard trigger by far, but almost every aftermarket trigger does the same things, and i believe better than savage, but you can't beat the price of the savage for it and its no hassel of putting in a new trigger assembly. a great entry level triggers are made by "rifle basix" and better yet is the "timney" triggers, those are pretty cheap and available for almost any rifles. The smoothest trigger component i have shot though is by Jewell but i think that is only for an AR15 and is designed for target shooting. If a rifle doesn't have an adjustable trigger, it is highly recomended to replace it or have trigger work done to it, all triggers were designed with laywers in mind, not shooters, and savage has disclaimers in their owners manual for that reason.

you will like that Savage. I have many Savage guns, the only thing I don't like my 110 (in .30-06) is that on range day my shoulder hurts pretty bad, it is a very light rifle and kicks like a mule. On a hunting day, you will like the light weight and not notice any recoil when you have that 10 pointer in the sights...I have a 1000 dollar Sendero and the "lowly" Savage groups just as well.....
