Boat repair question

cybermuskie

Question

Hey guys, I pulled out my old 12 ft alum. duck boat to see if the boat floated and the motor still worked. I hadn't used them for a few years. The 9.9 sportwin fired up on the 4th pull, grin.gif and then I noticed I had a very small crack in the nose/floor of the boat. shocked.gif Most likely I had hit a rock or something. What can I do to fix this??? Will shoe goop, or JB Weld, or something like it work?

Thanks in advance!

CM

Hey CM,

Prep the surface and the JB Weld should do the trick. Might want to have someone throw a true weld on it but the JB should suffice for now!

Good luck, and where are you fishing this weekend, Backus area?

From past experiance:

Do not try to use some of that fancy stuff that they sell at the State Fair, aluma weld I think it is called. I can weld two beer cans together but when I tried to fix the boat I ended up with a bigger hole than I started with and I was being dang careful! JB should hold it, though, I suppose it depends on the location of the hole. I would hit it with a bit of sandpaper first to give the JB something to stick to. Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

Honestly, I don't think I will make it 'eye fishing at all. There's just to many people around here this weekend for my taste. Maybe I will find a small crappie lake or something.

If ya go Good Luck though!
