Lowrance Hunt/H2O Question?

onthejob2

Question

Wondering if anyone could help me figure out the best way to figure/show distance on the GPS. Example: Trying to show how far a particular canoe trip or route may have been. Do you need to be in trail mode? I do have it set up to show the distance box on the bottom of the map screen, it just doesn't change(miles/feet traveled)??? Any help would be appreciated, going canoeing in the morning! smirk.gif

I have the H2O, but try this:

Menu->Menu->Utilities->Trip Calculator.

In there you can reset the trip at the start of your trip. You also have to check the 'Trip Active' box.

In the trip calculator, it will show you Speed, avg speed, max speed, distance and trip time. When you reset it, they all change to zero.

Set your destination up (find button) and you know how many miles you have to go (as the 'crow flies').

Hope it works for you.

Jon

No, I've been messing with it and I don't think it can be reset. Kind of like your car, you can reset the trip odom, but not the other one.

I'm going to mess with the trip odometer this year. I want to know what I get for gas milage in my boat.

Glad that worked out. How did your trip go? How many miles did you do?

Pierbridge...The instructions say you won't loose any waypoints by doing a 'reset' to default settings. You say a 'hard' reset might reset it...do you know if there is a button to reset everything? (I don't want to do it either).

Maybe there is someone here that has some miles on the odometer that would do a 'hard reset' of the unit to see if the odometer will reset...?
