NASCAR Officials

Here's a question that just came to mind while waiting for the Busch race to re-start. The officials, are there officials for each track, or do they have a set group of individuals that travels to each race like the teams? Anyone have a clue what these guys make in a year?

For the most part it's a traveling circus of officials and I would be willing to bet that they (the pit road guys) don't make a living off of this. Would you do it for room, board and a plane ticket? I know I would.

I would guess that the pay is close to nothing also.I would travel with them for expenses only.
