gunflint
I have a Garmin GPS 12. I have a chance to pick up a Magellan Explorist 200 new in the box for $60. Is this an upgrade? Thanks
0 PerchJerker
I am not familiar with either of those models. However, in the past I have owned and used several Magellans and a couple Garmins, and I prefer the Garmins.Re: if it's an upgrade, I would check to see how many sattelites each tracks and make sure it's parallel, not series. That will indicate how quickly each will lock onto the sattelites and which will have a better reading. Next thing to look at is the number of waypoints and routes each can store, assuming the a higher number is a newer unit.Hope this helps, good luck.
