Steering cable

The steering cable is rusted tight on my son-in-laws boat, any one have a simple idea to free it up besides getting a new one, I sugessted soaking it in diesel fuel inside a chunk of PVC pipe with a cap on one end when he gets it disconnected from the motor.

There's nothing safe you can do, you have to replace it. Once the freeze they are gone.

I wouldn't risk my life on a $ 80.00 piece of equipment.
