fuel pump or something else?

97' johnson motor tonight would onlt run while i pumped the ball on the fuel line? any suggestions? Thanks

Sounds like a good posibility... if you don't pump it does it suck the primer bulb flat?

One cheap thing to try is a new / different primer bulb to make sure one of the check valves built into the primer bulb hasn't gone bad...

I'd start there... I don't believe VRO pumps are rebuildable... which means a slighly expensive repair...
