Semi-dumb Mercury question

slick814

Question

I was looking into a new boat this evening... it had ELPT on the engine...

What the heck is ELPO, ELPT, etc?? I can't find it on Mercury's HSOforum at all, and didn't think about it at the dealers.

I'm assuming it's Electronic something fuel injection... but am curious as to what the other letters mean.

Thanks grin.gif

If you go on to the on line guides for used motor values, it will tell you what those letters mean. Electric start, power tilt and trim, fuel injection, etc. are all key indicators of value. This is my outboard shopping tip to help become a more informed buyer.

Quote:

I asked this last year. Junky is right. The "O" is for oil injected.

Ralph remebers very well...

He's correct Electric (start) Long (shaft) Power Trim.
