I fish the English River near Separation Lake and down river from there. Walleyes are everywhere and the pike fishing is awsome. I'll be bypassing my June trip because I have to tough out two weeks fishing in Alaska. I'll be there in late August and again in late September.

Will be heading there over the 4th o july week. Will be staying on north indian island. Was there in 2004 and the fishing was AWESOME. I caught the 4 largest pike of my life 41" , 40" , 38" & a 36 " all released to be caught again The last 3 were all caught within 15 minutes of each other. It took us longer to drive to the "walleye spot" than it did to catch dinner!!! The fishing is just unbeleivable even though it rained almost every day. The 6 days we were there the water came up a foot. Counting the days...................

I normally try to stay on Fox Island but I have stayed on all of them except the one on Indian. I think over the last couple of years the fishing has done nothing but improve in quality fish. I too have caught my biggest pike up there the last couple of years and it is really hard not to catch walleye up there. Then there is always the bass to play with as well.

Yep counting the days as well.

We fish Savoy lake which the river flows into. It is just east of Ignace. We are heading up Memorial weekend. We do really good. I caught a 32 inch walleye 2 years ago. Hoping to get a big northern or laker this time. So many lakes to fish upthere but never enough time.

When you say you are just east of Separation where specifically? When I was at the NW Sportshow I talked to a resort owner who had a boat in camp in one of the lakes above Lount. My map doesn't go past Lount. Is this the area you fish? My buddy and I were thinking about taking a weeklong boat trip up river from Separation in August for our annual pike hunt. I haven't been able to find much information about this part of the river. Are there any camping restrictions? Are there any resorts along the way in case we need some fuel?

We normally camp approx. 5-6 miles from the east end of Lount lake. Normally we hit Lount Lake several times just to explore a bit. Great fishing in the area. You will have no problem finding walleyes in there for sure. If you do just head into the narrows where the river comes in.

We always go out of Grassy Narrows. They have gas and camping there as well on some of the islands. From there you can either go up through Indian Lake to Ball Lake and then to the Maynard Falls or you can go west into Lount and Separation with TONS of fishing inbetween.

That is one thing I really enjoy about this body of water, you can go forever and find fish.
