jigstick44
I have an 02 Polaris 500 HO that once in awhile the lights will start blinking, usually when it is warmed up. Any thoughts?
Macgyver55
Jigstick, are the lights actually blinking on and off or is it more of a flicker, brighter/dimmer type thing?
Phred52
jigstick, Is it the head/tail lights or just the gauge lights that blink? I have an '04 Sptsmn 500, and the gauge lights blink when the battery needs to be recharged (like using the winch too long or turning the engine over cold without having the choke closed) After it runs awhile, the lights stop blinking, and it runs fine. What is the condition of your battery? Water level up? Full charge? Phred52
jigstick44
The lights actually do go on and off. I noticed it more when I was plowing and using the winch for my blade. When the would start blinking I would shut the lights off and then turn them back on after a few minutes. The battery was brand new last year, maybe it does need a charge and some fluid, I never thought of that since it starts just fine every time. I will check the voltage on it tonight. As far as the blinking, all of the lights do it, headlights, taillights, and gauge light. Kind of wierd. Thanks for the replies fellas.
tripper
starting to sound like a lose or dirty conection in the wiring or maybe a frayed wire that is grounding the lights out once in a while.
