trolling motor transducer

Is there anything wrong with running a transom mount transducer on the trolling motor i see they know have a mount for this it would be cheaper than buying a puck style transducer haven't seen this done would there be any problems with this

SUICK, we do it all the time. Just buy the high speed transducer bracket for the trolling motor and your good to go.

or; just bend the ears up a little on the flat bracket that come with it so you can run a hose clamp that is big enough to go around the trolling motor thru it.( i'm cheap! )
