Seat Mount Bases

gunflint

Question

Is there anything made to cover or plug seat mount bases when there's no seat in them. I like to take all the extra seats out when I'm not guiding. Keeps them nicer longer and gives me more room to wrestle monsters when I'm fishing solo. The problem is that the base hole gets crudded up over the season and allows junk to end up in the bilge.Any ideas other than duct tape? smirk.gif I checked Cabela's and BP and didn't see anything. Thanks.

i would think there should be some kind of a cap you could use,( but i haven't seen any) for a quick fix;you could just get a wood dowel that fits inside the hole, and cut it so it was flush with the floor. then cut a pc of plastic( like from a coffee lid?) that would cover the entire opening. attach it to the dowel, and drop it in . maybe?

No problem! I saw them this week while I was browsing around looking for new pedistals and bases. Now if I was only to get some time to work on my boat before the season...
