Electronics, two units one transducer?

GregeMoose

Question

Is it possible to split the signal from my Lowarance X-98 transducer to another Lowarance (undetermined as of yet) fish finder and then be able to use different settings, etc.on both units? Could the same be done with a GPS antenna signal?

Lets just say both sounders used the same transducer. Each send a pulse and each receive a pulse. Receiving the pulse would be no problem for both sounders. Each sounder sending a pulse might be a problem. You could isolate the Leeds that send on one sounder and eliminate them on your splitter but I don't know if that would blow your sounder. Thinking here......
No that wouldn't be a problem because you can run your sounder without a transducer connected without any problems and the pulse not sent wouldn't hurt anything.
Thinking again...... What about any feedback?
Why is it you don't want to mount 2 transducers anyway?
Hope this helped smile.gif

Thanks for the reply. No real reason to not install another transducer other than the work involved. While going from the back to the front of the boat it would be nice to have another unit there showing the same info. I do have a universal transducer on my trolloing motor but have it wired to my flasher (Vexlar). That works OK, but thought a another sounder next to it would paint a nice picture. Just didn't want to do more rigging (adding another transducer). Hope that makes sence, thanks for the input. Greg
